DOVE CARE
Our doves love to fly...
Our doves are special to us and under no circumstance will we place their well-being in jeopardy.
A considerable amount of time and love has been invested in their home, care and training and in order to keep them safe, happy and healthy, we adhere to the following guidelines.

Our doves are not released during inclement weather conditions.

Our doves will never be released inside a building; releases only permitted outdoors.

Our doves are never released at night; all releases scheduled a minimum of 60-minutes prior sundown.

Releases are to be within a 30km radius of Townsville City; releases beyond this boundary - and including Magnetic Island - to be priced upon application.

Releases are conducted or overseen by trained staff. For the safety of our doves, we do not permit self-releases.
The release
All of our white doves are released either by hand, or from beautifully handcrafted white wicker baskets or enclosures.
However, should you desire a different look, please enquire about upgrading to our ornate metal display cages and custom enclosures.
It remains our policy that the welfare of our doves is a priority and as such, we take care not to overcrowd our doves whilst contained in any of our release baskets or display enclosures.
Upon release, our white doves take to the wing and will deliver a wonderful sight as they circle the release venue - sometimes several times - before gradually disappearing on their journey back to their home.
Meaningful words
Before, during or following the dove release, you may choose to say a few words, or perhaps read a meaningful poem to help symbolise the significance of your event.
A dove release heralds a new beginning, your love and devotion to someone special, or a celebration of the gathering.
You have the option for a representative from Townsville Dove Release to read a poem or other meaningful words, or you may wish for yourself or someone else special to undertake the honour.
Townsville Dove Release has a selection of poems and words from which to choose, or you may have your own words or verse you wish to use.
